A Novel Approach for Automatic Generation Control of Power System

In this paper, a hybrid approach involving neural network (NN)-Bacterial Foraging Algorithm (BFA) is proposed for Automatic Generation Control of power system. The proposed algorithm is implemented to tune PID controller and the stability of interconnected system is improved. The feed forward Neural Network is to ensure the distribution of stochastic value with respective to chemotactic step size and enhance the performance of BFA. The proposed tuning algorithm is implemented in MATLAB Simulink environment and the load frequency responses are evaluated. By comparison with different Meta heuristic algorithm, the performance of the proposed controller is validated.
